Second in an occasional series. Part I here
There is a custom to head /date letters written during Sefiras HaOmer with that days number followed by the the word Matmonim, a cute compound word that breaks down to "counters of 49". e.g. a letter written today would be dated ל' למ"טמונים. I've read about this in seforim and IIRC maybe even seen a few haskomos printed in seforim with this dating system but I've never received such a letter. Have you?
