Havdalas Logical Conclusion

By Korakh the Blogger

Havdalas logical conclusion is pirud.

When a prior unity is bifurcated the resulting two entities are, by definition, unequal. When unity no longer obtains then, perforce, there must be an up or a down, a right or a left, an east or a west, a hot or a cold or a hard or a soft. All these categories are antithetical to one another and, left in close proximity, will clash. He Who was initially mavdil did not merely separate (verb) between upper and lower waters, He installed a firmament that would keep the upper and lower spheres separate (adjective), unequal and distant from one another. (OTOH אין בין מים העליונים למים התחתונים אפילו טפח).

And while that Apikores Hegel articulated a dialectic stating that thesis and antithesis eventually coalesce into synthesis. I say that clashes between entities separated will sooner or later result in either further splintering or, left to clash, the utter destruction of one side or the other. Call it the Korakhian dialectic.

And so I say let a hundred weeds sprout, let a thousand schools of thought contend and either multiply to a million or re-achieve the monolith by destroying the competition. Let the daisies sprout, then bring on the daisy cutters. Khaza"l were on to something when they said that Hell was created on the second day. Take it from someone perched there.

History gives me a bad rap as a בעל מחלוקת and a destabilizer of Amramowitzian authority. I prefer to consider my schismatic tendencies a kind of Imitatio dei. If HaShem could create a רקיע why can't I start a breakaway minyan??? Hmmm???
